My secret: also look for gaps.
Sewer lines can run under a neighbor's yard or a busy street. A quick address search will show you sewer cards & maps can help you understand if a line may be difficult or expensive to repair.
Many Seattle area homes were originally (or may still be) heated with oil stored in underground tanks. This records search will identify if a tank has been on site, and if and when and how it was decommissioned.
Will a new building or renovation obstruct property views or change your enjoyment of a property?
